IRLAND. En bilbomb exploderade i helgen i Londonderry/Derry på Nordirland. Polisen misstänker att Nya IRA ligger bakom dådet.

Under lördagskvällen exploderade en bilbomb i Londonderry/Derry på Nordirland. Polisen, som varnades strax innan bomben exploderade, har gripit två misstänkta. En gruppering som kallas Nya IRA tros ligga bakom dådet som inte ledde till några personskador.

Nya IRA bildades 1997 efter att Provisoriska IRA gick med på vapenvila med Storbritannien. Innan dess hade konflikten om huruvida övervägande protestantiska Nordirland skulle tillhöra Storbritannien eller katolska Irland skördat över 3 500 människors liv sedan slutet på 1960-talet.
