UTRIKES. Filippinernas president, som gjort sig känd för att ha tagit i med hårdhandskarna mot landets knarkkungar och knarkförsäljare, inför nu gratis skolgång i landet.

Duterte har av media kallats Filippinernas Donald Trump.

Rodrigo Duterte gick till val på att krossa korruptionen, knarkmaffian och införa välfärd i landet. Hans krig mot knarkmaffian har rönt stor framgång och tusentals knarklangare och kriminella har dödats av landets polis och militär.

— Förstör du mitt land dödar jag dig. Och det är helt befogat. Om du fördärvar våra unga barn dödar jag dig, sa Duterte bland annat om kriget mot maffian.

Han har även gjort landets vårdsystem tillgängligt för den fattigare delen av befolkningen. Nu väljer han att avskaffa avgifterna till landets universitet och gymnasium i sin strävan att infria sina vallöften.
