Fler muslimer än judar röstade på Donald Trump

UTRIKES. Donald Trump fick högre väljarstöd från muslimer än vad han fick från judar, enligt en omfattande undersökning.

Judar var den religiösa grupp som i lägst utsträckning röstade på Donald Trump i det amerikanska presidentvalet, visar undersökningen AP votecast. Stödet bland gruppen, enligt undersökningen låg på 30 procent, var till och med lägre än bland muslimer, varav 35 procent röstade på Trump.

Starkare stöd hade han bland protestanter, 61 procent, och katoliker, 50 procent. Allra starkast blev stödet bland mormoner med 71 procent, som dock är en liten grupp.

Bland de vita väljarna överlag var stödet för Trump stort, hela 55 procent. Stödet för biden var dock högre bland svarta, 90 procent, och latinamerikaner, 63 procent.

Fria Tider noterar dock att Trump detta val tappat röster från vita män jämfört med föregående val. Tidningen pekar på att Trumps valkampanj detta år varit utformad på ett sätt som gör att den uppfattats som mindre pro-vit, bland annat genom att invandring givits mindre utrymme och att Trump fokuserat på hur mycket han gjort för icke-vita.
