Joseph Goebbels talar i Görlitz

Dagens datum 8 mars: Denna dag 1945 talar Joseph Goebbels till arbetare och soldater i Görlitz.

Goebbels hade i början av mars åkt till frontstaden Lauban (nuvarande Polen) där Wehrmacht under Operation Gemse gjort en motattack och tagit ut en sovjetisk pansarkår. Motattacken vid Lauban betraktas som den sista stora tyska segern under andra världskriget.

Under dessa dagar talade Joseph Goebbels till soldater och arbetare i grannstaden Görlitz. Denna sachsiska stad är den östligaste staden i Tyskland och grannstad till Lauban.

Än en gång talade Goebbels om vikten av det totala kriget. Goebbels beskrev de övergrepp som Sovjet begått mot tyska kvinnor och barn och manade de tyska soldaterna till fortsatt kamp. Trots att det såg mörkt ut fortsatte Goebbels att inspirera sina folkkamrater till att inte förlora hoppet.

Genom det tyska folkets heroiska kamp vid krigets slutskede skapades förutsättningarna för en ny kamp idag. Inte bara visade det nationalsocialistiska Tyskland den förmåga vår ras besitter, deras stridsmoral lever vidare som ett föredöme för dagens kämpar. För som Goebbels avslutar sitt tal – en dag kommer våra ideal att segra.
