Riksdagen slopar krav på sterilisering vid könsbyte

Tidigare har svensk lag krävt att personer som genomgår ett ”könsbyte” ska steriliseras. Riksdagen har nu beslutat att ta bort det kravet. Förutom att ta bort kravet på sterilisering så kommer man nu även att ta bort två krav till, nämligen kraven på att en person som ska genomgå ett ”könsbyte” i Sverige måste vara svensk medborgare och ogift.

Tidigare har KD bromsat denna utveckling något, men partiet vek ner sig tidigare i år, vilket gjorde RFSL och Hbt-minister Erik Ullenhag (FP) nöjda.

Den nya lagstiftningen ska som senast träda i kraft i juli nästa år, och då kommer alltså transsexuella ”äntligen” kunna föröka sig – efter att man fått sitt könsbyte finansierat av staten och skattebetalarna.
