Sverige tecknar vaccinavtal med det multinationella företaget Pfizer

INRIKES. Den svenska regeringen har beslutat att man kommer medverka i EU:s Covid-19 vaccinavtal med det multinationella läkemedelsföretaget Pfizer.

Det var under tisdagseftermiddagen som Sveriges regering beslutade att man kommer ingå i EU:s vaccinavtal. Detta innebär att den svenska staten kommer delges 4,5 miljoner doser av Pfizers nya vaccin.

Förutsatt att det nya vaccinet godkänns, innebär det att regeringen nu tillsammans med sina tidigare vaccinavtal har tillräckligt med vaccin för hela Sveriges befolkning.

— I dag har regeringen beslutat att ingå avtal om att köpa Pfizers vaccin. Med tidigare tecknade avtal innebär detta att Sverige, under förutsättning att de aktuella vaccin blir godkända, har säkrat vaccin till hela befolkningen”, säger Sveriges socialminister, Lena Hallengren (S).

Sverige har tidigare ingått i EU-gemensamt avtal med Astra Zeneca och Janssen Pharmaceutica NV. Regeringen menar även att ännu fler vaccinavtal kan bli aktuellt framöver.
