USA. Representanthuset godkänner rekordstor budget till militären: 1,48 biljoner dollar.

Demokraterna och Republikanerna i amerikanska representanthuset har kommit överens om godkänna ett budgetförslag som bland annat innebär att 1,48 biljoner dollar ska ges till militären under de kommande två åren.

Budgeten innebär att försvaret – som mer används för att utföra militära operationer utomlands än att försvara USA mot främmande angripare – ska komma att få mer pengar än alla andra amerikanska departement tillsammans.

De övriga departementens kombinerade budget är 1,3 biljoner dollar.

Budgeten som nu skickas vidare till senaten röstades igenom med röstsiffrorna 284-149. Hos ”vänsterpartiet” Demokraterna var det bara 16 representanter som röstade emot budgeten.
