Zigenare avhystes från läger – var avföring överallt

SMÅLAND. Ett antal zigenare hade olagligt slagit läger i ett vedskjul och en jordkällare utanför Överum. Efter att ha hotat med vite tvingades polisen avhysa personerna från platsen.

De första klagomålen om det olagliga lägret utanför Överrum inkom till miljö- och byggnadsnämnden redan i september i fjol. Nämnden gjorde flera besök på platsen och för varje gång hade nedskräpningen i området förvärrats. Platsen blev en sanitär olägenhet med avföring och skräp överallt.

— Det var avföring och toalettpapper överallt och de hade bott på ett väldigt olämpligt sätt, säger Gunnar Ege vid Västervikspolisen.

Ägaren av fastigheten hade kontaktats ett flertalet gånger angående det olagliga zigenarlägret utan att personen vidtagit åtgärd. Till slut svarade han inte längre i telefon och Miljö- och byggnadsnämnden tog beslutet att belägga ägaren med vite om inte denne löst problemet inom två veckor.

Polisen menade dock att läget var akut. Bland annat eldade man i en tunna inne i vedskjulet och hade anordnat en provisorisk rökkanal ut genom väggen för att avleda röken. Därför valde man att agera direkt och själva avhysa zigenarna.

— Vi har genomfört en avhysning. Det såg inte alls bra ut, säger Ege.
