Thailand blockerar porrjätten Pornhub

PORNOGRAFI. Under den gångna veckan inledde Thailand en digital blockad av porrjätten Pornhub efter att man slagit fast att den typen av hemsidor bryter mot landets lagar.

Thailands digitalekonomi- och socialminister Buddhipongse Punnakanta har blockerat Pornhub och andra porrsidor i Thailand, bland annat med motivet att denna strider mot kvinnors och barns rättigheter.

Måndag förra veckan beordrades alla internet-leverantörer och mobil-leverantörer i Thailand att blockera Pornhub. På tisdagen hade mer än 190 URL-adresser från hemsidan blockerats. Redan efter några timmar började fler och fler tips om hur man kan undgå blockeringen mot Pornhub cirkulera på sociala medier.

En del kritiker klagar på att Punnakantas beslut, och menar att han skulle ha tagit ifrån dem sin rätt till ”fri media”. The Anonymous Party i Thailand skriver bland annat på sin Facebook-sida att man har rätt att ha tillgång till alla typer av media, inklusive sådan med sexuellt innehåll, så länge ingen tvingas att titta på det.

Dessa har även manat till protester utanför regeringen vid köpcentret Chaeng Wattana. Punnakanta understryker att han endast gör sitt jobb och inte tänker ta åt sig av kritiken.
