Part of the intimacy with nature that you acquire, is the sharpening of your senses. Not that your hearing or eyesight become more acute, but you notice things more. Invandringskritikern Miloš Zeman omvaldes som president i Tjeckien

UTRIKES. Tjeckiens sittande president Miloš Zeman vann med knapp marginal mot sin liberala motståndare i lördagens presidentval.

I lördagens presidentval i Tjeckien vann den sittande presidenten Miloš Zeman mot sin motståndare Jiri Drahos med knapp marginal. Invandringskritikern Zeman fick 51,5 procent medan liberalen Drahos fick 48,5 procent. Valdeltagandet uppgick till 66 procent.

Zeman har fått stark kritik i judiska medier då han har en mycket positiv inställning till Ryssland och Vladimir Putin, samt att han motsätter sig EU:s påtvingade migrantkvoter, då han menar att invandrare från tredje världen är ”omöjliga att integrera i Europa”. Han har även efterfrågat folkomröstningar gällande fortsatt medlemskap i EU och Nato.

Drahos å andra sidan har en positiv inställning till EU och Nato, men även han motsätter sig EU:s migrantkvoter. Han har sagt att han ställde upp i presidentvalet för att ”få ett slut på det populistiska klimatet i det tjeckiska samhället”.
