UTRIKES. Rysslands president Vladimir Putin talade ärligt om risken för ett kärnvapenkrig i världen. Skulle ett sådant bryta ut säger Putin att ryssarna kommer till himlen som martyrer och “fienderna dö som hundar”.

I torsdags gästade den ryske presidenten de årliga Valdai Discussion Club i Sotji. Putin svarade på frågor från media och experter i över två timmar.

Bland annat talade presidenten om kärnvapen och vad som skulle hända om ett kärnvapenkrig skulle bryta ut. Enligt Putin är det uteslutet att Ryssland skulle använda sig av kärnvapen i förebyggande syfte och att användat av kärnvapen därmed skulle leda till en “katastrof”.

— När någon har avfyrat kärnvapen mot oss kan det vara för sent. En potentiell aggressor borde veta att det kommer bli vedergällning. Vi kommer att komma till himlen som martyrer och våra fiender kommer att dö som hundar, sade Putin.
