Regeringen vill ha en ny vapenamnesti

INRIKES. Regeringen vill nu se en ny vapenamnesti för att kunna tömma Sverige på ytterligare oregistrerade vapen som ligger och samlar damm i garderober.

Nu vill regeringen att ytterligare en vapenamnesti, under vilken man tillåts att vara anonym, införs för att på så sätt samla in oregistrerade vapen. Amnestin är en del i en insats mot den organiserade brottsligheten menar man.

Den senaste amnestin skedde mellan den 1 mars och 31 maj 2013. Totalt ska över 15 000 vapen och 36 ton ammunition ha lämnats in till polismyndigheterna. Bland dessa vapen återfanns endast fyra stycken automatkarbiner, fyra kulsprutegevär och 30 kulsprutepistoler.

Många vapen som lämnats in under Sveriges tre amnestier 1993, 2007 och 2013 har varit gamla jaktvapen och revolvrar som blivit kvar efter dödsbon.
