Österrike motsätter sig förslag på EU-armé

UTRIKES. Enligt ett uttalande från Österrikes försvarsminister kommer landet inte delta i en EU-armé.

Under slutet av förra året föreslog Frankrikes president Emmanuel Macron att den europeiska unionen ska bilda en egen armé i syfte att skydda blocket mot Kina, Ryssland och USA. Idén mötte omedelbart kritik, men Macron fick uppbackning av globalistkollegan Angela Merkel.

Nu har dock Österrikes försvarsminister, FPÖ-medlemmen Mario Kunasek, uttalat att landet motsätter sig föreslaget om att skapa en EU-armé och att om en sådan skapas sker detta utan Österrikes deltagande. Enligt Kunasek är samarbete, som han menar att NATO lika gärna kan stå för, ett bättre alternativ än att skapa en gemensam armé.

Planer om att bilda en EU-armé har länge viftats bort som konspirationsteorier när ämnet tagits upp av EU-motståndare som menar att EU håller på att bli vad man kallar en monsterstat. Numera verkar detta dock ha normaliserats. I november 2017 meddelade EU-bossen Federica Mogherini att 23 medlemsstater godkänt bildandet av en gemensam försvarsfond.
