Uppgifter: USA planerar att dra sig ur klimatavtal

UTRIKES. Enligt uppgifter i amerikansk press kommer USA att lämna Parisavtalet, det största internationella klimatavtalet någonsin. President Donald Trump kommer lämna det officiella beskedet i nästa vecka.

I december 2015 kom sammanlagt 196 nationer överens om ett bindande avtal om utsläppet av växthusgaser. Avtalet var en del av FN:s klimatkonferens i Paris (COP21) därav namnet Parisavtalet.

Nu ett och ett halvt år senare ser USA ut att dra sig ur avtalet. Källor med insyn uppger att presidenten meddelat flera av sina medarbetare, däribland Scott Pruitt som är chef för miljömyndigheten EPA, att man kommer lämna Parisavtalet, avslöjar Axios.

Donald Trump skrev under lördagen på Twitter att han kommer lämna ett officiellt besked huruvida USA kommer att dra sig ur eller inte under nästa vecka.

Att USA skulle dra sig ur Parisavtalet var ett av Donald Trumps vallöften under presidentvalskampanjen.
