Regeringen vill att terrorlag även ska täcka rasfrämlingar och HBTQ-människor

INRIKES. Regeringen har givit Terroristbrottsutredningen två nya uppdrag. Bland dem att se om nuvarande terrorlagstiftning täcker rasfrämlingar och HBTQ-människor.

Terroristbrottsutredningen som har till uppgift att utreda huruvida Sveriges terrorlagar är tillräckligt täckande har av regeringen fått ytterligare två uppgifter. Istället för att bara se över terrorlagarna fungerar till att bekämpa terror vill man också att utredningen ser över om de nuvarande lagarna täcker brott som riktas mot asylsökande, nyanlända, hbtq-personer eller personer med viss religiös tillhörighet.

Regeringens krav på utredningen om landets terrorlagar skyddar rasfrämlingar och dekadenta inslag i vårt samhälle kommer efter de många påstådda brandattackerna mot asylboenden i landet.

Utöver översynen om de nuvarande lagarna ger speciellt skydd för ovanstående element så vill regeringen också att längden på de straff som kan utdömas där terrorbrott utreds ska öka. Regeringen säger sig i nuläget vara tveksam till om nuvarande straffskalor reflekterar allvaret i ett terrorbrott.
