Åtta volleybollspelare misstänkta för grov våldtäkt i Finland

FINLAND. Polisen har gripit sammanlagt åtta kubanska volleybollsspelare misstänkta för sexbrott i Tammerfors i Finland.

Polisen har gripit sammanlagt åtta volleybollspelare från Kubas landslag som är misstänkta för grov våldtäkt. Enligt Finska notisbyrån (FNB) skedde brotten på hotell Ilves i Tammerfors. Polisen fick larm om händelserna på lördagen. De tre spelarna som greps i Tammerfors under lördagen kommer att begäras häktade senast under tisdagen klockan tolv.

Utredningsledaren Joni Länsipuro säger att de misstänkta spelarna förhördes under söndagen. Om de misstänkta begärs häktade ska häktningsrättegången ordnas så snabbt som möjligt, kanske redan på tisdag, men tidpunkten beror på hur Birkalands tingsrätts tidtabell ser ut.

Landslaget skulle ha flugit hem under måndagen men Länsipuro uppger till Yle att de misstänkta spelarna inte får resa hem.

Den finska tidningen Aamulehti meddelar att offret, en finländsk kvinna, har hörts av polisen. Brottsrubriceringen för de alla åtta spelarna är grov våldtäkt.
