Brasiliens president censureras av Youtube efter påståenden om covid-botemedel

SYDAMERIKA. Brasiliens kontroversielle president Jair Bolsonaro har censurerats av Youtube. IT-jätten har beslutat att radera filmklipp där ”tropikernas Trump” bland annat påstår att malariamedicin kan bota covid-19.

Som andre statschef i världen efter Donald Trump har Brasiliens president Jair Bolsonaro tystats av världens största och mäktigaste IT-företag Google.

Det är Google videotjänst Youtube som valt att radera filmklipp där Bolsonaro uttryckt egna teorier om covid-19, vilket enligt Youtube strider mot användarvillkoren om så kallad desinformation.

Presidenten ska i klippen bland annat ha påstått att covid-19 kan botas med malariamedicinen klorokin eller förebyggas med parasitmedicinen ivermectin, samt att munskydd inte hjälper att begränsa spridningen av viruset, något som också Sveriges statsepidemiolog Anders Tegnell påstod relativt nyligen.

”Efter noggrann granskning har vi tagit bort videos från Jair Bolsonaros kanal, eftersom de bryter mot vår policy om medicinsk desinformation. Våra regler tillåter inte innehåll som hävdar att klorokin och ivermectin är effektiva för att behandla eller förhindra covid-19″, skriver Youtube.

Ifall Bolsonaro fortsätter att publicera förbjudna åsikter på Youtube riskerar han att stängas av helt.
