Heilande målvakt frias: “Känner inte till hälsningen”

SPORT. En heilande fotbollsmålvakt har friats efter att ha hävdat att han inte visste vad hälsningen var för något.

Under en middag med sina lagkamrater fångades Crystal Palace-målvakten Wayne Hennessey på bild när han såg ut att göra en romersk hälsning, en så kallad heilning. Detta samtidigt som han höll den andra handen under näsan i vad som antogs vara en mustaschhärmande gest.

Efter att ha utretts av engelska fotbollsförbundet FA friades Hennessey med motiveringen att han inte visste vad en ”Hitlerhälsning” var. Målvakten menade i stället att han vinkade till en servitris samt höll handen över munnen på ett sätt för att hans rop skulle höras bättre.

Enligt domen uppvisade Hennessey en ”bedrövlig nivå av okunskap” om Tredje riket men FA valde alltså ändå att fria honom.
