Dagens datum 14 oktober: Denna dag 1944 inledde de allierade Operation Hurricane som var en 24 timmars bomboffensiv mot Ruhrområdet. Över 10 000 ton bomber släpps över Duisburg och Braunschweig. Genom en enorm insats från brandkåren räddades tusentals människor.
Judiska världskongressen kan beskrivas både som en spindel i nätet av olika slags judiska organisationer och som det judiska folkets diplomatiska arm gentemot de samhällen där judar lever i världen. Grunduppdraget är lika enkelt som det är mångfacetterat: att överallt göra livet bättre för judar och möjliggöra ett rikt judiskt samhällsliv.
