MV-lehtis chefredaktör har gripits

FINLAND. Chefredaktören för Finlands största alternativa webbtidning MV-lehti har gripits i Andorra enligt finska polisen.

Finska polisen informerade på fredag kväll att MV-lehtis grundare och chefredaktör Ilja Janitskin har gripits i Andorra, vilket bekräftats av Interpol. Överlämnandet sköts av justitieministeriet.

Janitskin misstänks för flera brott i Finland, så som grov hets mot folkgrupp, grova ärekränkningar och upphovsrättsbrott.

Helsingfors tingsrätt hade häktat Janitskin i hans frånvaro i oktober förra året, och utfärdade en europeisk arresteringsorder inom EU på honom för att få honom till Finland på förhör. Janitskin överklagade beslutet i hovrätten men fick avslag.

En spansk domstol har tidigare beslutat att Janitskin ska utlämnas till Finland. Domstolen lät dock Janitskin vänta på beslutet på fri fot, varpå Janitskin valde att rymma.
