Anne Frank-dräkt återkallades efter kritik

UTRIKES. En påstått kränkande halloweendräkt föreställandes Anne Frank har tagits bort från en nätbaserad maskeradbutik efter skarp kritik på Twitter.

Internetbutiken Halloweencostumes.com hade i år en ny dräkt till salu. Det fanns dock ett problem – kostymen liknade den judiska flickan Anne Frank. I beskrivningen av kostymen omnämns Frank bland annat som ”en inspiration för oss alla”.

Det tog inte lång tid efter att internetbutiken startade försäljningen av den Anne Frank-inspirerade halloweenkostymen som en stor skara människor började klaga på Twitter. Bland dessa fanns representanter för judisk makt-organisationen Anti-Defamation League.

Ross Walker Smith, talesperson för hemsidan Fun.com som äger internetbutiken, tvingades att pudla och under söndagen bekräftade han att dräkten tagits ur sortimentet. Han bad även om ursäkt för ”misstaget”.
