Under en presskonferens i Syriens huvudstad Damaskus med militära ledare från Syrien, Irak och Iran fördömdes USA:s närvaro i landet och andra regioner.
USA:s närvaro i autonoma stater i regionerna kallades ”illegala och förkastliga”.
— Amerika och andra skall ut ur Syrien precis som de har lämnat andra regioner, för sådan närvaro är illegal och förkastas, oavsett hur de försöker rättfärdiga det, sade Syriens försvarsminister Ali Abdullah Ayoub.
— Syrien visar nödvändigheten av att sådana styrkor villkorslöst skall dras tillbaka, för de är ockupationsstyrkor och de kränker den syriska statens suveränitet, tillade Ayoub.
Toppmötet mellan de tre ländernas försvarsmakter ansågs viktigt för att stärka ländernas förmåga att ”möta de problem och faror som orsakas av takfirernas [de orättfärdigas] omfattande och växande terrorism”.
Stabschefen för Iraks militär Othman Al-Ghanimi sade att USA:s terror är en angelägenhet för hela världen.
